Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock Retreat Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Granite Tabernacle Private Views
Quite a vista from the campsite. It's an adventure getting there, but the dog and I enjoyed the solitude and shade of the Tabernacle rocks.

Everything went well. I’m a 63 y:o single woman. This was my maiden voyage without a motorhome. I loved it! Ben and his beautiful wife Martika are a match made in heaven living out the American dream. I was greeted my first morning by the white dogs whom I think saved me from a rather large rattle snake. I heard it and thought the water was going off, started walking over both dogs liked at me then the snake rose up. Ong!! Big. I have much respect now. It was just crossing its space. Amazing Splitrock valley in stargazer site was a dream. Soul searching, proving to myself I could do it was exactly what I was in search of. I highly recommend the Sound-bath. What an experience I’ll never forget. I enjoyed the small bit of time I got to chat with both of them. I will be back. There too much to say except thank you. The property it really fun to drive around or hike. I drive after the snake and the fact that I’m old 😉. Watch out for bolders,. That’s all i got to say about that 😂 My trip was more the I could have ever imagined. Special all around seeing how it was my 1st time and alone too..

The Oak Grove Communal Camp
Trees, stars, and goats - Oh My!
Beautiful property, so much to explore, and the goats were an adorable surprise! We loved how secluded it was and all the other campers were very respectful of each other. The only thing we were looking forward to was getting warm by a camp fire but there weren’t any individual fire pits. However, everything else was still really great so we’d for sure come back!
